Oda Foundation Healthcare
rural women’s, family, and emergency care
We built our region’s premier healthcare facility —
a full lab and 300+ medicines,
a full Nepali staff of 12,
2 government-funded nurse-midwives,
a fully female labor and delivery team,
and 24/7 emergency care
3,400 patients a year travel 3+ hours to visit the Oda Foundation’s medical facility.
We have served over 65,000 patients since opening our clinic in 2013.
We have secured $30,000 USD in support from the Nepali government - contributing to goals for financial independence.
The Oda Foundation Clinic emphasizes
preventative care + critical services,
healthcare equality,
and emergency medical coverage
Medical Emergencies - we cover costs families would otherwise be unable to undertake living on $1 a day.
An 18 month-old girl, at right, fell off a terrace. We saved her life by assessing her condition, then providing for her transport and care in Kathmandu for pediatric neurosurgery.
Every day, our clinicians work to eliminate disparities.
— We are building the Odanaku Birthing Center to provide even better quality care for women.
— Our staff undergo regular CME (Continuing Medical Education) courses.
— We organize community trainings on reproductive health, antibiotic resistance, and more.
Critical Services: patients pay what they can afford.
— Patients pay up to 50 rupees (50 cents) for their care; ~ $1.89 at cost.
— We offer critically-needed women’s healthcare: counsel, delivery, birth control, UTI care, and more.
— We drastically increased treatment of major morbidities, like pneumonia and neonatal death.
