Kalikot, Nepal is undergoing a Silent Emergency (UNICEF), with a severe lack of resources and opportunity. Over 80% of women practice chhaupadhi, over 25% of children are out of school, and gender and caste discrimination perpetuate inequality in health, food systems, opportunity, and education.

Kalikot’s communities share intense physical labor, close-knit community relationships, and remote and incredibly rigorous terrain. We are honored to work with these communities, to know individual names and faces, and to facilitate change alongside local leaders and partners.
